Legitely wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who rely on assistive technology.
Standard we aim for
We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our baseline. This is an ongoing effort, not a one-time checkbox.
What we've done
- Semantic HTML with clear landmarks and a logical heading order on every page.
- A visible “skip to main content” link.
- Keyboard support throughout, including the full Legit Check assessment.
- Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements.
- Colour combinations chosen to meet AA contrast for text.
- Form fields with associated labels, and errors announced to assistive technology.
- Respect for the “reduce motion” system setting.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative images hidden from screen readers.
Known limitations
- Some newer content may not yet be fully reviewed. We check new pages against our checklist before and after publishing.
- Third-party content, if added in future (for example an embedded map), may not fully meet the same standard.
